My PhD was financed with a scholarship, can I apply for the benefit?
If your PhD position was funded by a scholarship, your PhD programme does not qualify you for unemployment benefit. If you have studied full-time, the PhD studies can be disregarded. If you have had an employment before starting your PhD studies, we may be able to base your unemployment benefit on that work.
How your PhD has been financed is not important when it comes to whether or not you are considered unemployed. The important thing is that you have ended your studies.-Hide
How do I get my payment?
Register your bank account number at www.swedbank.se/kontoregister in order to receive your unemployment benefit. You do not need to have an account with Swedbank, but we use Swedbank to pay out the benefit. If you have not registered your account at Swedbank, you will receive a payment voucher by post.
